37° JIC Flare Fittings

Stainless steel flare fittings are used in areas where strong vibrations, high pressure peaks and high mechanical loads occur. Flare fittings guarantee a high level of safety in the pipe system. The main areas of application include shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, the petrochemical, offshore, paper and hydraulics industries.

The 3-part SAE union consists of a union body, union nut and support sleeve. It connects and seals the pipe flared at 37°. The sealing and retaining function to the flared pipe is purely metallic. The design of the fitting allows the use of pipes in both metric and imperial dimensions for the ranges 6 mm - 42 mm or 1/8" - 1 1/2". The fittings are manufactured from drawn or forged stainless steel with material no. 1.4401 / 1.4571 with factory acceptance certificate to DIN 50049/3.1. The pressures range from 100 to 350 bar, whereby a pressure reduction must be taken into account above +20° C. The dimensions are based on ISO 8434-2 and the SAE standards.

Advantages

  • Secure pipe support thanks to flare clamp
  • Only one separation point between the socket and pipe
  • High pull-out resistance due to positive-locking design
  • Metallic sealing point, independent of medium/temperature

Design features

The dimensions of the 37° flare fitting series are based on ISO 8434-2 and SAE standards. The 3-part fitting consists of a fitting body, union nut and support sleeve. The sealing and retaining function to the flared pipe is purely metallic. Depending on the choice of support sleeve, the union can be used for both metric and imperial pipes.

Materials

pC flare fittings are manufactured from drawn or forged 1.4401/1.4571 only with a factory acceptance certificate to DIN 50049/3.1. Special materials on request. The O-rings are made of NBR as standard for a temperature range of -40° C to +100° C. Also available in Viton® on request.

Temperature

We would like to point out that DIN 17440, Tab. 6, recommends a limit temperature of 300° C for 1.4401 and 400° C for 1.4571. For screw connections with soft seals, the limit temperatures of the elastomers must be strictly adhered to, for NBR -40° C to +100° C and Viton® -25° C to +200° C.

For your safety

Pipe connection elements are sometimes exposed to extreme loads such as vibrations and uncontrolled pressure peaks. Only the use of PressCone original components and compliance with the pc assembly regulations guarantee product safety and compliance with the applicable standards. Failure to comply with this rule may impair functional safety and invalidate the warranty.
