Orbital Welding Fittings

Orbital welding fittings are ideal for applications where space, weight and maximum purity are required. They are available in long or short versions and with or without a collar. The orbital welding fittings from Schwer Fittings include elbows, T-pieces, crosses, reducers, straight pieces and special parts turned from forged bodies. They are available in long or short versions and with or without a collar.

The welding ends are turned exactly flat, guarantee exact centring between the pipe and fitting with the same wall thickness and create a smooth transition at the welding seam. Smooth transitions on the inside prevent entrapment areas for impurities (particles) and ensure good conductivity. The tight tolerances for easy alignment and welding, uniform wall thicknesses for consistent weld seams and low gas absorption characterise the high quality of the fittings.

In relation to the smaller sizes, the compact fittings fulfil the same pressure and temperature requirements as the correspondingly larger components with the same outer pipe diameters. The dimensions range from 6 to 18 mm or from 1/8" to 1", the pressures range from 165 to 450 bar. There are 3 different roughness depths available: Ra ≤0.2 µm, Ra ≤0.4 µm, Ra ≥0.6 µm. Thanks to in-house production, other dimensions and customised designs are also possible at any time. Additional plasma cleaning is possible. Welding can be carried out automatically or manually.

With the "VC connectors" product group, Schwer Fittings offers high-quality precision connections with metal sealing discs for a wide range of high-tech applications. Typical areas of use are in laboratories, analysis, high-purity gases, semiconductors, general industry, the chemical industry, ultra-high vacuum and high-pressure applications.

The connecting elements, both in welded and bolted versions, can be combined with each other in a variety of ways and are interchangeable. The design makes it possible to assemble connections with virtually no axial play, even where space is limited. This makes very compact systems with few elements possible.  The metallic seals also enable use in low and high temperature ranges.

The screw connections can be reused many times and helium-tight systems can be realised without any problems. Complex manufacturing processes, from mechanical processing to surface treatments with corresponding quality monitoring, ensure that the required specifications are met. Different surface qualities ensure an optimum price-performance ratio in relation to the requirements of the respective application.
