Hose fittings and hoses

Wherever corrosive and aggressive media have to be conveyed, stainless steel pipework systems and fittings have become increasingly important. This applies in particular to hose fittings and hydraulic adapters. Through targeted expertise, fittings and sockets are developed that cover a wide variety of hose types with one fitting.

Hose fittings are used in the areas of shipbuilding, paper machine construction, hydraulics, paint shops, offshore industry, food industry and water management.

It should be noted in advance that hose lines may only be manufactured by trained specialists. Fittings and compression fittings from different manufacturers should never be used. The individual components must be matched to each other to ensure optimum crimping.

Why are hoses used instead of pipes?

  • High flexibility during installation
  • Avoidance of vibration transmission
  • Wide range of applications due to large selection of connection fittings
  • Lower weight compared to pipes

What needs to be considered during installation?

  • Correct selection of the hose material
  • Correct determination of the hose length according to customer specifications
  • Select fittings and compression fittings to match the hose
  • Correct adjustment of the specified crimping dimension
  • After crimping, check the final crimping dimension using calipers
  • Carry out a leak test
  • Apply the prescribed labelling

What must be observed during installation?

  • Never install the hose stretched, but always with slack
  • Do not exceed the minimum bending radius
  • Avoid torsion at all costs
  • Professional installation of the connections

The hoses are stored on drums in state-of-the-art closed Kardex shuttles. This ensures fast access at all times. A closed storage system offers protection from dust and other influences, such as sunlight or other light sources.

Hose Fittings and Hoses, Hose Configurator

Hose Fittings:

Depending on the hose type, corresponding fittings are offered in the common connection types such as DIN, JIC, BSP and SAE. The press fittings cover the entire hose range and are available for all common hoses such as 1-2SN, 1-2ST, 4SP, 4SH, stainless steel-coated PTFE hoses, spiral hoses, low-temperature hoses, Teflon hoses and thermoplastic hoses (hoses according to DIN 20021-20023). Connection fittings for corrugated stainless steel hoses round off the Schwer programme.

The fittings are available from stock at Schwer Fittings and guarantee the highest quality. They are manufactured from AISI 316-316Ti with factory acceptance certificate 3.1.

The product range includes:

  • PTFE hose smooth or corrugated with braiding
  • PTFE hose natural
  • Stainless steel corrugated hoses
  • PFA tubing
  • Pharmaceutical tubing
  • Food hoses
  • Hydraulic hoses
  • Thermoplastic hoses
  • Polyamide hoses
  • Polyethylene hoses
  • Polyurethane hoses
  • PVC hoses with or without fabric
  • Silicone hoses
  • Armoured hoses
  • Stainless steel corrugated conduits for self-assembly

Hoses ready for use

Schwer Fittings GmbH has expanded its stainless steel programme to include fully crimped PTFE hoses with stainless steel braiding as well as hydraulic hoses with fittings and sockets. The product range also includes corrugated stainless steel hoses with a large selection of connection fittings.

Our product management also realises special solutions with the customer, be it in the area of special fittings or special materials such as Hastelloy or titanium. It is important to make the right choice of hose material together with us. Decisive factors here are the medium, pressure, temperature and required bending radii.

In the hose sector, we specialise in smooth or corrugated PTFE hoses with stainless steel braiding. These are kept in stock in large quantities from DN 06 to DN 50 and can be assembled and dispatched to the customer on the same day if required.

Test number and internal tests:

All components such as hose fittings and press fittings are lasered with a test number on Schwer fittings. This number conceals a wealth of information. This means that even years later, the assignment to the original material with all mechanical tests and the 3.1 certificate can be guaranteed.

In our testing and research department, the hoses and fittings can be put through their paces and tested. The test bench can carry out static tests up to 4000 bar and dynamic load cycle tests (impulse tests) up to 1000 bar using computer-aided programmes. Test reports can be sent to the customer on request.

Packaging and labelling:

Schwer Fittings attaches great importance to quality. This also includes professional packaging of the hoses. Each hose is individually shrink-wrapped and labelled. Labelling can also be done individually according to customer requirements, such as customer article number or customer logo.

Your enquiries and orders will be processed immediately and our product managers and sales and field staff will be happy to help you at any time. Our company is certified according to ISO 9001:2008
